The Deliberation
Questions accepted by The Final Authority enter deliberation. The deliberation process is described below. The timeline is not.
Acceptance
The question is reviewed for eligibility. Questions must be submitted by both parties (or with both parties' confirmed consent). Questions must be genuinely unresolved — questions with knowable factual answers are referred to appropriate authorities. Questions of personal preference with no resolution mechanism are our primary caseload.
Deliberation
The question enters deliberation. The deliberation period is unspecified and appears to be permanent for most cases. This is not delay. It is the process. Some questions require extensive deliberation. The deliberation is ongoing for 1,847 questions currently in the queue. We do not provide status updates during deliberation.
Determination
When deliberation concludes, a Final Determination is issued. The determination answers the question directly. It does not explain its reasoning at length. It answers. Both parties receive the determination simultaneously.
Finality
The determination is final. There is no appeal process. Both parties agreed to this before the question was accepted. Disagreement with the determination is noted. It is not grounds for reconsideration. The question is closed. The matter is settled.
